I graduated from Tensas Academy in 1989. I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from ULM in 1993. I received my Master’s degree from Tech in 2008 and my plus 30 in 2011. I am a lifelong learner. I am always reading or looking for a new book to learn something new.
I am certified in Elementary Education grades 1-8. I have an add on certification for Middle School ELA and Math. I currently hold an Educational Leader certificate Level 2.
I am so blessed to be the principal of Lenwil Elementary school. This is my 7h year as principal. I have been employed with the Ouachita Parish School System for 27 years.
During my 27 years in Ouachita Parish Schools, I have been a teacher for 16 years, a Reading and Math Coordinator for 4 years, a School Improvement Facilitator for 1 ½ years, and now a principal for 6+ years. As a teacher, I taught at Central Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher, 1st grade teacher, PE teacher, and dance instructor for the Little Indians. I also taught at Drew Elementary in 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I am so thankful to be a part of the Ouachita Parish School System.
I have been married to my husband, Eric Vige, for 26 years. We have 3 daughters. They all went through the Ouachita Parish School System. My oldest is a teacher. My middle child is in college I pursuing a degree in Paychology, and my youngest is still in school.
When I am not at work, I love to exercise, spend time with my family, and when possible, I love to go to the beach!
