Science Sub Work

Watch the video and follow the directions after to complete the assignment for today.

If you are a VIP student...go over and discuss the Discussion Questions with your learning coach.

Students in class with discuss the Discussion Questions together as a whole class.

Students will open up a new Google Doc and put their name and date. 

They will then follow by using the 12 vocabulary terms to create EXCELLENT 5th grade sentences. These will be part of your grade for today.

*Make sure all sentences are numbered so that you don’t skip a vocabulary word.

*Use correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and begin the sentence with a capital letter. (NO TEXT ABBREVIATIONS)

*Underline the vocabulary word used in each sentence.

*Make sure you use AT LEAST 8 words in each sentence.

*You may use more than one vocabulary word per sentence but make sure you still have 12 sentences.

YOU MUST COME UP WITH THE SENTENCE ON YOUR OWN! IF YOU GET A SENTENCE FROM THE INTERNET THAT IS PLAGIARISM AND YOU WILL NOT GET ANY CREDIT FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT.

Below you will find example of “good” and “bad” sentences. I am not using the given vocabulary so that you can’t copy my sentences.

If my vocabulary words are star and astronomer.​

Good Sentences

1. I like to wish upon the very first star I see in the night sky. 

or

1. We do not see any stars in the night sky because the sun is too bright. (You may change the tense of the word if needed.)

2. The astronomer likes to spend his time on the back porch studying the stars.

If my vocabulary words are star and astronomer.​

Bad Sentences

1. I can see a star in the sky. (This doesn’t have at least 8 words.)

2. Astronomer means someone that studies the stars. (DO NOT write a sentences telling me what the meaning of the word is. I need to know that you can use the word in a sentence correctly).
